All good in the bahamas
Well our trip started off without a hitch!!! We caught all of our flights on time and arrived smoothly in Nassau. Tonight is the first time we had power however as this side of the island is experiencing rolling black outs. Our first day was an incredible one. We were greeted by over 60 smiling kids. We played and reunited with old friends and met some new ones as well. We are looking forward to seeing what God is going to be doing among us tomorrow. God has truly blessed us with some great debrief times. For some of our first timer missionaries today was a huge surprise. The reality of the third world is hard to embrace. As we were swimming today, we encountered three rafts that had run a ground from Haiti. Our group prayed for all of the souls that were on those little rafts. It's sad that entire families will set a drift because that is a better option than their lives in Hait. This reality has both inspired and moved our group.keep us in your prayers as we start our vbs program and share the gospel tomorrow. Sorry for the quick post and no pictures, we don't know how long the power grid will be up :) as the power allows we will add pictures and more posts !!!!!!! God bless
Jamie

Yay, great news to hear. Praying for you all and can't wait to read about what God is doing through you all. Keeping your trip in prayer.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you!! Glad all went well flight-wise. I want to apologize for holding everyone up at the airport. I had set my alarm but for 4:20 not 3:20AM - blonde moment :( I don't know why R.Y.'s alarm didn't work that morning. ANYWAY, so happy we didn't really mess things up!! Hopefully R.Y. is hard at work trying to redeem himself :) I pray God is using all of you to your fullest and all of you are enjoying the blessings that come with His use. What could be better than belonging to the Great I Am??!!! Love and God bless! Brenda
